This walking holiday starts and finishes from the front door of an idyllic farmhouse in Val d'Azun, nestled in a river valley and surrounded by the stunning Pyrenean mountains.

Val d'Azun is found within the Hautes-Pyrenees region of south-west France, a favourite destination of hikers and mountain enthusiasts. Following trails that take you miles away from civilisation, you can really embrace the elements and enjoy the majestic beauty of this wild landscape. Walk through leafy countryside, along deep valleys and shores of beautiful mountain lakes. Safe in the knowledge that your professional, local Guide knows the paths like the back of his hand, you can relax and admire the wildlife and magnificent alpine scenery around you.

All routes will be discussed with you before setting off, and the guide will use your feedback to ensure the walking is best suited to the group's fitness level and mood on that particular day.

Get an insight into mountain life as you walk through the area, scattered with pretty villages with slated roofs and communal mountain-huts where you can take a welcome rest-break. Get a taste of Pyrenean culture by sampling some of the subtle, locally produced Cabacou cheese and Madiran wine.

Returning home to an alfresco dinner with the Pyrenees peaks as a backdrop, you can use the last of your energy to reflect with friends on the day's adventure.
