This walking holiday starts and finishes from the front door of an idyllic farmhouse in the heart of rugged Swiss Normandy.

As the river Orne winds its way through the area's unspoilt countryside, it creates deep valleys and immense cliffs in the granite landscape. As a result there is a wide variety of stunning tracks and trails, ranging from meandering riverside paths to steep gorge hikes. Amongst the 1000km of walking routes in the immediate area are sections of the Mont St Michel Pilgrim's Walk and the GR 36, a long-distance walking route stretching from the Normandy coast to the Pyrenees and part of the Grande Randonnée network in France.

As you explore this area where nature still has the upper hand, you'll be tempted to dip your toes in the river and marvel at the wildlife around you. The incredible overhanging cliffs at Roche d'Oetre are just one of the region's natural beauty spots where you will be absorbed by panoramic views, vast forests and isolated picnic spots.

Get an insight into rural France and Normandy culture as you walk through quaint villages and come across farms where you can drop in and taste locally produced cheese, cider and calvados. Returning home to a sizzling BBQ as the sun is setting, you can use the last of your energy to reflect with friends on the day's adventure.
